Leading the Charge: Regener8 Power's Bold Plan for New Zealand's Renewable Future
New Zealand has set ambitious goals of achieving 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. However, meeting these targets will entail a considerable increase in electricity supply – estimated to be around 70% by 2050 – in order to support the electrification of the New Zealand economy. To put this into perspective, it will require the development of approximately 400-500MW of new generation capacity every year until 2050. This rate of development is unprecedented in the country’s history. Regener8 Power has partnered with a local NZ carbon forestry group and created TŪMANAKO RĀNUI a specialist solar and battery storage developer focused purely on NZ.
